What’s The Best Exercises For Weight Loss ? – These 4 Exercises Will Help You Drop Weight FAST

Share This Post:

The best exercises for fat/weight loss is a mix of weight lifting and cardio, but it is also very important to remember that no matter how much exercising you do if your nutrition is bad and you get less than 7-8 hours of sleep everyday it will be extremely difficult for you to lose body fat. Incorporating both weight lifting and cardio is the best way to train when dieting for a few reasons. One, when losing weight your body will burn fat and muscle so weight lifting will prevent a lot of the muscle from being broken down. Keeping muscle mass is important because muscle tissue burns roughly 7 – 10 calories per pound per day, compared to the 2 – 3 calories per pound per day for fat. Second, cardio is a great tool for weight loss since it will mean that you can eat more and diet on higher calories. Unless you would rather eat a lot less food then you won’t need to do cardio, but just know that losing an extra 200-300 calories from your diet can make a big difference. Lastly, HIIT Cardio is very good to add in later for your fat loss to stop plateaus (when your weight doesn’t go down and stays the same).

The Top 4 Exercises For Weight Loss

The reason why these exercises are optimal for weight loss is because each one incorporates a bunch of different muscle groups making your body burn more calories while doing the exercise and after the exercise (muscle recovery burns a lot of calories after your workout).

The Front Squat

The front squat is great at increasing your core muscles. It primarily works your quads and upper back so it is great for quad development and quad strength. All weight lifting exercises that includes your legs should be in your routine if you’re trying to lose weight because the legs are the largest muscles in your body and also burn the most calories during/after your workout.

The Bench Press

Probably the most famous exercise but, for a good reason. The bench press will help develop your upper body strength/power using mainly your chest and triceps with a bit of your shoulders also involved within the movement. Since the bench press uses three muscle groups to perform it will also burn a lot of calories.

The Deadlift

If you want to have a stunning physique and lose weight quickly then deadlifts would be the best exercise to turn too, especially if you’re a beginner lifter. The deadlift is the king of compound movements and the greatest strength exercise. Seriously this exercise will have you gasping for air as it literally uses your entire body to perform, but a lot of the focus will be on your lats, glutes, hamstrings and lower back.

The Squat

The squat is an invaluable addition to your weight loss regiment and an exercise you should not do without working the glutes, hamstrings, quads and lower back. Once again this exercise includes your legs so it has to be in your routine if you’re trying to lose weight since the legs are the largest muscles in your body and also burn the most calories during/after your workout.

  1. Hello there!

These are definitely exercises that will help bring my weight down. However, more than that they provide muscle building as well. Well, it depends how you do them I guess since If you put a lighter weight and repeat the exercise more times you’ll be spending more calories. At least that’s what I have gathered from my own experience. Thanks for the article.

    1. Yes, doing more reps definitely burns more calories. It’s called hypertrophy training and is intended to induce the fastest muscle growth possible.

  2. I like the idea of lifting to be able to lose weight. It’s great that when building muscle, the regrowth of the muscle helps to burn calories even after the workout has stopped, unlike steady state cardio. One of my favorite exercises is boxing and/or kickboxing. You can get a huge high intensity interval burn which lasts for days and days. Thanks for the great read once again Andrew.

    1. It really helps a lot that muscle’s repairing themselves burn calories. If it weren’t for that I think I would be really overweight due to the amount of food I be eating haha.

  3. Thanks for sharing this! These are some good exercise tips, but what about someone who has a lot of weight to lose, like 40+ pounds? I’ve been solely focused on traditional cardio like jogging and bicycling and have seen some good results. Could HIIT Cardio replace these types of cardio?

  4. I agree that squats can be a good exercise to help you lose weight, but do you think you should be looking to increase weight or reps to burn more calories? furthermore do you think in your training session you should target one body part or do more body parts?

    1. You should be looking to increase your reps if you would like to burn more calories. Furthermore, try to keep to at least 2 body parts in each session.
