Butter Lemon Garlic Shrimp Recipe – Perfect For Any Low Carb Diet

Adding fish or seafood to your daily bodybuilding/fat loss eating plan is a great way to add a lean protein source that provides great nutritional benefit to your body – the protein helps repair and build lean muscle and for those trying to get ripped it can be a more sensible alternative to high fat meats. This week I will be using shrimp in this quick and easy low carb, high protein bodybuilding recipe, but first I would like to explain how shrimp can help you build a lean muscular body.

Cooked Shrimp

Shrimp are classified as shellfish – a crustacean that is available year-round in a variety of sizes. You can find it in your local supermarket canned, fresh or frozen. Shrimp is a great source of heart healthy omega-3 fatty acids, known for its anti-inflammatory properties as well as helping keep your arteries clear of plaque build-up. In fact, one four-ounce serving of cooked shrimp provides approximately 14% of the daily need of omega-3 fats.

  • 3 tablespoons of avocado oil
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried chipotle pepper (Chili)
  • 200 grams (30-40) medium uncooked, unpeeled shrimp
  • 3 tablespoons of butter
  • 3 tablespoons of tequila
  • 2 tablespoons of lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh chopped cilantro
  • salt & pepper to taste

How To Prepare

  1. Heat large skillet and add avocado oil
  2. Add garlic and chipotle pepper powder, cook for about 1 minute
  3. Add shrimp, butter and the tequila to skillet. Cook for about 3 minutes or until shrimp are pink
  4. Add lime juice and cilantro
  5. Serve and Enjoy
